Casa Lucretia, Vama

A place of magic "The Lucreţia House" waits for you in the heart of Bucovina in the shadow of the Carpathians. It is a house smothered in flowers and surrounded by a large garden where scented wild plants, lime, birch and fir trees toss their heads in the mountain breeze. We, Lucreţia Lucuţar, a teacher and Silvestru Lucuţar, MD, founded "The Lucreţia House" in 1998 and it became not only a charming unspoiled natural spot, but also a real gastronomic, cultural and spiritual haven.
Situated in the heart of the Bucovina region, within the Vama village - an old historical settlement first certified in 1408 - Casa Lucretia offers the privilege of a breathtaking natural environment: forest-clad mountains (Obcinele Bucovinei and Rarau, 3000-5000 feet high) perfect for rambling and hunting trips, and crystal-clear rivers (Moldova and Moldovita) chanting ancient legends. The local folk are hospitable, proud keepers of old, charming traditions.

Mornings at Casa Lucretia are filled with fresh air and warm sunshine on the open terraces, while the wonderful landscape is a delight to the soul. Morning coffee served here has a unique taste

During the day, time can be spent visiting the monasteries, walking in the mountains or hunting. Those who prefer to stay at home can take advantage of the large garden and surrounding hills.

Meals can be served either in the large, traditional dining room, or in the garden, under the lime trees.
